Keypad/display issues

Also called an SMT, the keypad and display normally is not a maintenance problem. However, if you have keys that don’t work or the display is garbled or won’t show data, the unit may need to be replaced.

Troubleshooting:

It the SMT is not working correctly and showing garbled data on the screen, try the following to reset the display:

1. Disconnect the cable connected to the back of the unit OR power down the entire RTU.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the . (period) 0 (zero) and up arrow keys.

3. Plug the cable back into the unit (or power up the RTU)

4. When the unit powers back up, it will ask if you want to load defaults. Yes, push the up arrow (F1 key). The display should be reset and showing a normal display.

If resetting the display does not correct the problem, it OR the controller it is connected to may need to be replaced.
