Web page (SCADAWEB)
The SCADAWEB web page(s) is hosted on the SCADAview computer and broadcast to the outside world via a
web server program such as WampServer or IIS. Once
the web server has been configured, the internet router must be configured
(port forwarding) in order for the web page to be
available to the outside world.
Operation
and troubleshooting
A common issue can be that the web page cannot be seen on a
computer or mobile device or is otherwise inaccessible. Common causes can be:
1. Web
server program is not running or not configured correctly. Go to the programs
on the host computer and verify the host (Wamp or
IIS) is indeed running. You may also do this by checking the task manager.
2. Router
broken or not configured correctly. This
is the most common cause of the SCADAWEB page not working. Often, the
router will be replaced or remotely reset by the internet provider, thus
erasing the port forwarding configuration mentioned above. Have your internet
provider or local I.T. professional make note of the port forwarding settings
so they may be reconfigured after the router is replaced/reset. The Micro-Comm service department can reconfigure your router for a
nominal charge.
Note that in some cases Windows updates can also ‘break’
the server software as well. Contact Micro-Comm for
assistance if your local I.T. professional is unable to get it going.
